Big Bass Splash

Big Bass Splash is one of those games I opened expecting to close in five minutes and ended up playing for a whole evening. You pick a spot, aim your cast, and time the reel while a fish tugs on the line. It sounds simple, and it is, but the timing has just enough weight to it that landing a big one feels earned.

The controls are all thumb-friendly. A quick flick to cast, then a hold-and-release rhythm to pull the fish in without snapping the line. There's no menu maze and no tutorial that overstays its welcome. Best of all, it runs fully offline, so it became my go-to during a dead-zone bus ride.

What surprised me was the pacing. Between casts there's this calm little rhythm of water sounds and light animation that makes it a great wind-down game. It's not deep, but it knows exactly what it wants to be.
